New year, new goals, and new resolutions. If experience has taught us anything, accomplishing goals is not an easy task. New year’s resolutions often give birth to Mid-Year regrets. How do you shift from regrets to accomplishment? How do you failure proof your 2025 plans? The secret is embodied in a quote by David Allen “You can do anything, but you cannot do everything” This means you have the ability to accomplish anything, but not the capacity or the time to do everything. Just like Jack of all traits is a master of none, Jack of all goals succeeds at none. Jesus had unlimited ability, yet he had one singular focus, I John 3:8 “…. For this purpose, the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.” Jesus’ entire time on earth was focused on the execution of a singular task. What singular goal is driving you in 2025? What is that one goal that would make all the difference? Yes, you have many things you want to accomplish but narrow down your list of resolutions and goals to a few critical items and focus all your faith and intensity on its execution. Every successful business is driven by a single strategy the same way every successful athlete excels at a single sport. So, discard your long list, and focus on a few goals and drive them to the finish line. You don’t get a prize for attempting, you get a prize for finishing, so refrain from attempting many, and focus on finishing a few. The way to accomplish any goal in 2025 is not to confuse any goal with every goal.
