A Small Step Too Big for Small People

What separates greatness from mediocrity often lies in a single, small step: the step towards self-improvement. Ironically, everyone knows exactly where they need help, such as with finances and investments, career excellence, leadership proficiency, time management, marriage, or even physical, mental and spiritual health, etc. They also know the actions needed to achieve progress such as enrolling in a course, reading a book, upskilling on technical proficiencies, starting a business, or seeking mentorship. However, many do not begin this journey due to their comfort with the status quo. Human nature often resists change, even when it is beneficial. Many people prefer to expend physical energy on what is not working rather than investing mental energy to find out what works. Success stories typically highlight those who complete and win the race, but the more concerning issue is the number of people who never start. Similar to the man at the pool of Bethesda who waited for thirty-eight years, many sit on the sidelines for a lifetime, expecting to be saved, when their salvation is only a few steps away. All transformative impact starts with the smallest of steps. Are you content to sit on the sidelines or would you decide today to be the man and woman in the arena. Those that make things happen rather than watch things happen. Those that take life by the horns rather than get horned down by life. It begins with the smallest of steps. Are you big enough to take it or too small that you avoid it?

Such a powerful piece. Big enough to take it!
